Giorgi Gabisonia
Giorgi began his animation career in 2016 at Budapest Metropolitan University. After earning his bachelor's degree, he returned to Georgia in 2019 and joined Studio "Animatory."
Over the years, he has worked on numerous commercial projects with the "Animatory" team, as well as on the short animated film "The Raven." He is also one of the Georgian participants of the international master's program ReAnima. As part of this program, he traveled to Belgium, Finland, and Portugal during 2023–2024, where he studied animation directing, explored various forms of animation, and learned about different career opportunities within the field.
Now, enriched with new experiences and skills, he continues his work at his beloved studio and is currently involved in the production of the Georgian feature-length animated film "IGI," where he serves as the director’s chief assistant.
For three months, Giorgi will mentor a 2D animation class for the studio. Along with theoretical topics, it will be a process full of student-oriented assignments and feedback, aimed at teaching students the shortcuts and tricks that any leading animator uses to complete scenes of varying complexity. They will play out, draw, and execute their short, individual assignments, enabling them to showcase their abilities to any potential employer.
